Analía Amaya is a Cuban artist born in Matanzas, Cuba, in 1979, currently living and working in Upstate New York. Her experimental art spans from resin art, photography, video art, installation, among others, to recreate simple, abstract, and conceptual works that blend beauty and significance. She studied at San Alejandro Fine Arts Academy, Havana, Cuba (1995-1999) and at the High Institute of Arts, University of Arts, Havana, Cuba (1999-2004), where she also completed a postgraduate in Performance Arts (2003-2005). Among her personal exhibitions are Night Landscapes, Palmerston North City Library, New Zealand (2018) Concert of stars, 12th Havana Biennial Collateral Exhibition, National Theater of Cuba (2015); Landscapes, Co Gallery, Santiago de Chile, Chile (2014); Light, La Casona Gallery, Havana, Cuba (2009) and Aural spaces (Museum of Contemporary Art, Valdivia, Chile (2007). She has been awarded national prizes and scolarships and she has exhibited in several group exhibitions. Among the group exhibitions are: Lost in Landscape, MART, Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Trento and Rovereto, Italy (2014); Silent Contemplated Variations, National Museum of Fine Arts, Havana, Cuba (2014); Citizens of the world: Cuba in Queens, The Queens Museum, New York, USA (2013); Out of place: reflections about art, city and urbanism, National Museum of Fine Arts, Santiago de Chile, Chile (2010).
